Fall Open House - Monday, August 27 from 6:00 - 7:40
Dear Parents,
Renner Middle School looks forward to welcoming you to our annual Fall Open House on Monday, August 27th.
Parents will begin their “mini-school day” at 6:00 p.m. At that time, you will begin moving through an abbreviated version of your child’s daily schedule, meeting his/her teachers, and becoming acquainted with the curriculum. We will have ten minute class periods with 5 minute passing periods between each class.
Linked and pictured below is the evening’s “bell schedule” with space to write out your child’s class information. Please have your student help you fill it out and then bring it with you that evening; schedules are still available through parent portal, so you could also get room numbers and teacher names through that avenue.
Students are welcome to attend open house, escort their parents throughout the evening, and then remain in each classroom throughout their teacher’s presentation. Our hallways are designed to accommodate the natural flow of our 1,200+ students, and our classrooms are designed to comfortably house 30 students; please prepare for a bit of a crowd and some elevated temperatures as we double or triple the normal population in a classroom.
While we will not have food trucks on sight for this event, we will open up our cafeteria at 5:30 in case you would like to bring in your own food and have dinner with your family before open house.
First period will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., so please don’t be “tardy.” We look forward to seeing you on the 27th.
Sincerely,
Renner Administrative Team

Clothing Donations Needed
Occasionally, we have students who mistakenly wear clothing that falls outside of our dress code policy. When this happens, one of our options is to offer the student alternative clothing that we keep on hand in Ms. Huston's room. (We always keep it washed and folded neatly!)
While we have plenty of shirts, we would greatly appreciate donations of warm-up pants, sweatpants, or non-tight joggers.
If you have items that you would like to donate, we will be collecting in the front office.
Thank you so much!
Looking for A Few Good Men!

- Assisting with supervision of a 30 minute lunch

Need To Pick Up Your Kiddo Midday?
As a campus, we will not call classrooms or send office aides to bring students to the front office until the parent arrives to make this request in person.
If you know that you will be picking your child up early from school and would like to save some time, please follow these procedures:
- Please write a note detailing what time you need your student to be in the front office to be picked up
- Have your student bring that note to the front office before school starts on that particular day
- We will give your student a written pass to leave class at the specified time so he/she can meet you in the front office
- This prevents unnecessary classroom interruptions from phone calls requesting students to leave class or our office aides delivering notes
Reminders About Carpool, Arrival, & Departure
- As you enter into our carpool lane from Willow Bend or Parker, you will notice that there are 3 possible lanes as you approach the building. The two lanes closest to our building are the carpool lanes; the lane closest to Parker is for exiting back onto Parker only.
- Students can ONLY BE DROPPED OFF OR PICKED UP IN THE LANE CLOSEST TO OUR BUILDING - AGAINST THE CURB.
- DO NOT DROP STUDENTS OFF OR PICK STUDENTS UP FROM THE CENTER LANE.
- Ms. Andrade is our traffic controller in the morning.
- There will be times when Ms. Andrade needs to stop all 3 lanes of traffic in order to let students cross over, at the crosswalk, onto our campus.
- Of the two lanes closest to the building, Ms. Andrade will be stopping one lane at a time and funneling the other into the carpool lane against the curb next to our building.
- Pull all the way forward, leaving no gaps, and have your student exit as quickly as possible from your vehicle.
- Please do not stop at the flagpole and leave room ahead of you so that you can immediately go left to take the exit and skip circling through the staff parking lot. It doesn't save you that much time, and it does hold up the carpool process.
- No parking - at any time - in any portion of the carpool lane.
- Please stay in your vehicle.
Lunch Deliveries
Parents may bring food only for their student(s). There is a table just inside the front office where parents can leave lunches for their student(s).
