Happy New Year!
We hope that our first Smore of 2022 finds your families safe and healthy, and that your Winter Break was restful. We are happy to have our students back in the building and can't believe that we are just a few weeks away from the end of the first semester!
With the arrival of cold weather, we want to remind our students to dress for the cold and that we check the weather every morning and when warranted, the staff will bring the students inside at 7:20am. 7th and 8th graders enter through the main doors and head to the cafeteria to eat breakfast; 5th and 6th graders enter through their pod doors and eat breakfast there.
We are looking forward to a successful and healthy second semester. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you support your student.

Elyria City Schools Mask Mandate:
All students are required to wear masks while on school property. Students will be given mask breaks by their teachers but are required to wear masks at all other times, including in the halls and the cafeteria, when not eating. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to keep our students and staff safe and healthy.
8th Grade JVS Field Trip:
All 8th graders will be taking an educational field trip to the Lorain County JVS. Our 8th grade girls will visit JVS on Tuesday, January 18th and the boys will go on Thursday, January 20th. They will tour the facility and observe the career and technical labs to begin thinking about scheduling for next year and ultimately, career choices. Students will be out of the building from 8-11am. If you have questions, please contact our Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Marzec at 284-8016.
Extra Curricular/After School Pickups:
Your student must have a ride arranged at the designated end time for all after school events, including practices, games, clubs and dances. If you are unsure of the correct time or place for pickup, please call the Main Office at 284-8016 for that information. Thank you!
