HIRSCH SCHEDULE @ A GLANCE
Message from the Principal
May you enjoy this most wonderful time of the year with your family and friends. May positivity continue to reign in all our hearts as we continue to press forward for the coming year.
It has been a blessing serving our Hirsch scholars and learning community in the year 2021. Our faculty and staff are looking forward to continuing to educate your child in the year 2022.
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and the Blessed New Year 2022 to All!
Blessings always and here to serve,
Dr. Clare Resilla
Principal
Hirsch Elementary School
Car Riders and Walkers
Walkers should be designated as such. Parents who wait for their children in the front parking should go to the car rider line, not in the front parking lot. If you designate your child to be a walker but meet them at the front of the building, they are not walkers but should be car riders.
Entrance B, the front office entrance, is designated for buses, day-care, or vehicles with Entrance B permit. All other vehicles entering the building during dismissal without an Entrance B permit will be directed to the car rider line to pick up their child.
Thank you so much for being so cooperative as we ensure a smooth and safe traffic flow at Hirsch Elementary.
We continue to ask our Hirsch Learning Community to Support our district's Mask-Up Initiative.
Free Meals For All Spring ISD Students During 2021-2022 School Year
For the 2021-2022 school year, all Spring ISD students will be offered breakfast and lunch at no cost, every school day. The district is able to offer free meals due to the recent guidance from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), allowing schools to offer meals to all students at no charge for this school year.
Free and Reduced Meal Applications: The School for International Studies at Bammel
All students enrolled in grades pre-K through 3rd grade at the School for International Studies at Bammel will be offered free meals for the 2021-2022 school year. However, because this is a new school, students enrolled at this campus are encouraged to submit a free and reduced meal application.
The Spring ISD Child Nutrition Department will process applications to ensure student eligibility carries over for the first 30 days of the 2022-2023 school year. The online free and reduced meal application may be completed at www.schoolcafe.com.
Students Enrolled in All other Spring ISD Schools
The free and reduced meal application is not necessary for students attending other Spring ISD schools.
For more information, call 281-891-6445 or visit the Spring ISD Child Nutrition site.
Download the Free MyView App To Track Your Child's Bus
Spring ISD is introducing a new scanner system on all of its buses for the 2021-22 school year that will give added peace of mind to parents by allowing them to know when and where their student gets on and off the bus.
Students carry a small card that automatically logs their entry or exit when they pass the scanner on the school bus. The information is then instantly and securely available to parents. Notifications can also be sent directly to their computer or cell phone via text message.
By downloading the free MyView app, parents will have an easy-to-use mobile app to check on their child's school bus. MyView uses GPS data provided by the Zonar V4 telematics control unit to track and display that bus's location on an aerial map, powered by Google—all in near real-time. Parents can create and set alerts to let them know when the bus enters their neighborhood or gets close to the drop-off point, which is especially helpful on bad weather days.
In addition, these cards will have a dual purpose to allow students to scan at the Point of Sale in the cafeteria lines, adding convenience and efficiency for both parents and child nutrition workers.
Instructions
Set up Zonar MyView:
Download the Zonar MyView app from the App Store or Google Play.
Enter the School Access Code 77090.
Enter your child’s unique student ID.
Create alert zones around drop-off and pick-up points.
When your child’s bus enters an alert zone, you will receive notification by email or text.
COVID-19 Reminders
Parents, if you or your student are ill, stay home. Please always check your child’s health before sending them to school, and if they show any signs of illness, such as a cough, sore throat, runny nose or fever, please keep them home. Here are some additional reminders:
If your student has been potentially exposed to someone who is sick, please do not send them to school.
For the safety of our students and staff, if your student has been tested and is awaiting results, please consider switching to remote learning until their results come back negative.
If someone in your household tests positive for COVID-19, do not send your student to school.
COVID-19 PROTOCOL
Parents are requested to monitor their students in the morning before school. Look for the
following symptoms:
• Take temperature 100.4 or over indicates an infection.
• Coughing or sneezing
• Sore throat
• Diarrhea
• Shortness of breath
If a student has any of the above symptoms, please notify the principal and/or seek medical attention. When a student arrives at school they must wear a mask. They will have their temperature taken and if 100.4 or below will proceed to the classroom.
If the student has a temperature over 100.4, they will be escorted to the nurse's office where they will then be escorted to an isolation room for an evaluation of symptoms which will include a questionnaire and parent contact. Please indicate to the nurse if the student has had an exposure that you are aware of.
Depending on the student's symptoms at the time, the parent can pick up the student or he/ she will be sent to class. If a student's symptoms are requiring immediate medical attention, 911 will be called. Every effort will be made to keep the students safe.
Keeping our Students Healthy and Hydrated during the School Day
Parents, please remember to send a refillable water bottle with your student to school every day.
