A Note from Miss Barresi πΌ
We are getting ready for class placement and we would love for you to provide some input with the process. By identifying your child's learning strengths and needs, we can work together to ensure next year's class will help your child to be academically and socially successful.
Our classroom placement process is incredibly thoughtful. As a staff, we work closely with our Special Education and ESL teachers to ensure our classrooms are balanced. We check in with specialists to gauge their input as they see our children during more excitable times of the day. In grade level teams, we meet to discuss the children's learning styles and personalities to confirm that we are striving to create an inspiring learning environment. Our goal is to carefully match children and teachers so your child can be their best learning self each and every day.
All forms must be received by Friday, May 5, 2023. The school ultimately makes the final decision with class placement and we cannot honor teacher requests.
You can find the link to the form here: https://forms.office.com/r/eWS8ZfWfdL
Thank you and happy weekend!

A Note from Tim Leonelli for Our Rising Fifth Graders!πΊπ₯π»
Which Instrument Will They Choose?!
In Grade 5, students will have the opportunity to start an instrument at the Middle School! At an upcoming Music Class, 4th grade students will hear demos on the flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and bells. All of these are options for 5th grade!
As Music Class is part of the school day, this does not conflict with afterschool activities, clubs, or sports.
Over the course of the year, Middle School students learn to play the instrument of their choice, learn to read music, and work towards performing songs like βWe Will Rock Youβ and βGo, Green Wave!β at their Winter and Spring Concerts. Recently, over 160 students of the Grade 5/6 Instrumental Music Class performed for their families and the Abington Community. Our growing music program was even featured in Abington News!
