ALPHA GAMMA DELTA NEWS
FIRST SEMESTER UPDATE
Happy January to My Alpha Gam Sisters!
This fall, I had the pleasure of stepping into the role as the Alumnae Relations Team Advisor for the Epsilon Omega Chapter of AGD. My Alpha Gamma Delta memories from college are easily some of my fondest memories. My hope for this position is to see the relationship between collegiate members and alumnae members grow. Along with the Alumnae Relations Chair and her committee, we are committed to improving communication and strengthening the partnership between actives and alumnae. This twice yearly e-newsletter is the first step. We are also working on creating a website exclusively for alumnae members of Epsilon Omega. Additionally, we want to hear from you! Tell us what information you need and how we can help you feel more connected to our Chapter. Email us at eoagdalum@gmail.com with your comments and suggestions.

Social - Groovy Jams and Winter Formal
The second annual Skate Date Groovy Jams was a total success this past fall! Us Alpha Gams love to skate so much that Leisure World ran out of skates for all of us and our dates! After all the skates were checked out, we moved on over to do a little bowling too.
Formal was just as crowded as normal! It was held at the Shrine Club which allowed us to be classy but not too fancy. Appetizers were catered and cupcakes were supplied by the mother of one of our sisters. We had great music, tables to sit at, and a painted banner for pictures. Overall, we had some great social events this semester!GROOVY JAMS

Meet Eryn Crawford, the new Alumnae Relations Chair!
My name is Eryn Crawford. I am a junior, psychology/ Pre MAE major. I am from Moberly, MO. I love to travel and recently ran my first half marathon! I am a Grey's Anatomy fan and love dessert! My favorite part of Alpha Gamma Delta is the lifelong friendships and memories I have made!
The First Pearls Project Update
The members of the Fall 2015 pledge class, along with the Epsilon Omega Advisors, would like to thank each alumnae member who participated in The First Pearls Project by becoming a Pearl Sister. Each new member received their gift of pearls along with a congratulatory note on the morning of their Initiation. It was a very inspiring portion of the Initiation day that the Chapter hopes more alumnae have an opportunity to be a part of. Some great connections were formed through this project, ones that we hope continue. Alpha Gamma Delta has a rich history and tradition that is meant to be shared between both active and alumnae members. Sisterhood in Alpha Gamma Delta is not just a four-year commitment, it is a relationship and connection that lasts a lifetime. Participation in The First Pearls Project serves to confirm that connection and strengthens those bonds. Roses to the beautiful pearls and the beautiful alumnae who participated.

We will be having a newsletter twice a year (one per semester) and you can keep an eye out for these via email. We are also working on getting an alumnae website up and running so that everyone can stay connected, involved, and informed!Alpha Gam Trivia
Alpha Gamma Delta has more than 165,000 members throughout 190 collegiate chapters.
Alpha Gamma Delta was the third sorority founded at Syracuse University and became the last sorority to form the Syracuse Triad along with Alpha Phi and Gamma Phi Beta.
One of our founding members, Emily Helen Butterfield, created our coat of arms as well as the coat of arms for several other sororities and fraternities including Theta Phi Alpha and Phi Beta.
Alpha Gamma Delta’s mascot is squirrel and was given the name Skiouros by the Gamma Chapter. (Also, it is currently fat squirrel season therefore you should enjoy this great picture of fat squirrels: http://www.buzzfeed.com/laurenstrapagiel/omg-fat-squirrels#.tt3OrvVzq )
- Some notable members include singer Rita Coolidge, singer/songwriter/actress Gloria Loring, Screenwriter Karen McCullah Lutz, and Miss America 1947 Barbara Jo Walker.
