Spelling
***New Spelling Homework: A word sort will be sent home each Monday. This is the new leveled spelling program I shared during parent conferences. Each child will be on his/her individual spelling level. Please have your child cut out and sort the words and pictures. It is good to do a quick sort of words and pictures each day. We will be doing the same sort in class each Monday so these are yours to keep. Your child will work on the spelling skill sent home all week and then tested on Friday. For example: digraph 'sh' words. If they can spell one 'sh' word, they should be able to spell others. Brainstorm as many as possible such as ship, shop, fish, cash, shock, shin, push. A spelling choice board will be sent home to give you ideas for practicing the words. Your child does not have to turn in this homework.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Optional Challenge Words (test on November 11, 2016)
vote, leader, state, nation, choice, decision, public official
