Ms. Smith's Weekly Newsletter
October 25th, 2019
Hello All,
We had an AMAZING week this week!!! I hope you all did too:)
Here are some reminders for our coming weeks at Lee:
It is our final week for our Write a Check campaign. We are halfway to our goal! Thank you for considering donating to our school! Even if you are unable to donate you can support our school by filling out the green paper and returning it. Thank you for your support!
Our garden guru Mrs. Keiko and the Compost Crew are collecting vegetable scraps and used coffee grounds EVERY FRIDAY for composting! Help support our garden by bringing your vegetable scraps to the cafeteria each Friday morning.
Green House has been learning about the UNs global goals. We want to make an impact by participating in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. This program encourages kids to collect change while they trick-or-treat that will be donated to UNICEF to make a difference around the world!
In order to launch our collection, we are hosting a mini pumpkin decorating contest! We would love for everyone in Lee to participate. All decorated mini pumpkins should be brought to school on Monday, October 28th. Our school will vote on winners from categories such as “funniest pumpkin” and “spookiest pumpkin”. Our winners will be able to take home a golden pumpkin trophy!
When decorating your mini pumpkin, please do not carve it. We want our mini pumpkins to last all week long, so please only add decorations to the outside of the mini pumpkins. Here are some examples of how you might decorate your mini pumpkin.
If you would like to join us in collecting change for UNICEF, collection boxes will be available in Green House on Monday, October 28th. We hope you participate to make a change in our world!
Other Reminders:
- October 31st is our Book Character Parade, so please mark your calendars now, so you can participate! If you would like to attend, please sign up here and we will have a visitor's badge printed for you.

Parents, thank you for being members of our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Please take a moment to check your PTO Membership Toolkit settings. We want to be mindful to protect your privacy, so if you have not adjusted your settings, you will want to review your Directory and Publish Preferences settings to ensure that unwanted personal information is not viewable to members.
