Upcoming Events/Reminders/Notices

Grandparents Day is Friday, 9/23. Please use the map that was on the form that was sent home a couple of weeks ago, so that grandparents know where to park. The 4th grade time is 1:30 - 2:15. I will be sending more specific information/reminders next week!

Also, the office is looking for more volunteers to help grandparents get checked in when they arrive. If you are interested in helping, please click on the link below.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up in just a few weeks, and I'm looking forward to meeting with all of you! On Monday, 9/19 at 4:00 pm, you will be able to start reserving your spots - the office will be sending you directions on how to do this. Conferences will be held on Wednesday, 10/5 and Thursday, 10/6 from 4:00 - 7:30. I have also added several time slots throughout that whole week if those nights and times do not work for your family.

The annual fundraiser information is coming home today. All orders (please return in the big envelope are due by Monday, 9/26.

Narrative Writing - Realistic Fiction

As I previously told you, as a district, we are still working on how to incorporate grammar into our day/week due to the change in our Writing curriculum. You may start seeing Language papers come home from time to time without me having written about it in the Room News (because we're fitting it in when we can). There will not be any homework or tests/quizzes UNLESS I have put it into the news and given you a warning.

Multiplication Test: Friday, 9/30

Starting this month we will have one graded timed test a month. The September and October tests will be multiplication only - 50 problems in 5 minutes. Starting in November, division problems will be added (I will send more info about this in November).

For September, since it is the first test, students will have four opportunities to take the first test - meaning if they don't get 100% on the first try, they have three other chances (the best grade goes in Skyward). All other months there will only be one test.

First Try - Friday, 9/2

Second Try - Friday, 9/9

Third Try - Friday, 9/16

Final Attempt - Friday, 9/23
