Creative Potential

Last week, Sprague students celebrated International Dot Day! This day is celebrated to boost courage so that children's creative potential is released. It is a great day to connect and collaborate, to celebrate self-expression, and encourage students to understand that everyone is unique and creates their artwork differently, and that is OK!

Students read the book, "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds is a story about a child who discovers her artistic talent. In class, students played games and drew pictures to express themselves.

To view pictures of the activity, please visit our Facebook page or go to our Google Doc folder.

Dropping Off After 8:10 AM?

If you drop your student off at school after 8:10 a.m. please park your vehicle in a designated parking spot on the street, or on the east or south side of the building and walk your child to the office. There is no supervision for students after 8:10 a.m. and we rely on parents to bring their students to the office for late check in.

Test Results

Look for fall administered MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) English/Language Arts and Math assessments to be mailed to families through the U.S. Postal Service. MAP Assessments are administered to students in grades 1 through 8.

The test is intended for school staff to understand a child’s current academic level while also measuring academic growth over time in Mathematics and English/Language Arts. Administrators and teachers review data from these assessments to gain insight into how students are performing, which allows for more accurate instructional planning aligned to student needs.

Cultural Board Contributors

The Sprague Staff Cultural Committee would love to connect with individuals, families, or groups of caregivers, who would be interested in contributing to a monthly bulletin board display to teach others about their culture or about a culture that is relevant to their family.

  • The photo shown in this picture is an example of a bulletin board sharing about South Korean culture.
  • In the month of October we are highlighting South Korea.
  • We are flexible in how you would prefer to contribute, such as lending items, providing pictures/resources, or creating the bulletin board by yourself or with others.
  • Please let us know how you would like to cooperate by filling out this cultural interest survey by Monday, Sept. 27.

We will reach out to you as soon as possible and provide you further information!

Please call the school at 847-945-6665 and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for your time!
