Lane Intermediate Community Fitness Zero Hour Activities for 2017-18 School Year
Mrs. Harris will be offering a variety of before school games/activities for students to participate in during a 4 week time period…March 12- April 20 every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning. Some of the offerings will include Dodgeball, Badminton, Lightning, P90X, T25, fitness stations, and Yoga. Please review the highlights below and complete this consent form for the 2017-2018 before school activities. We need this form completed prior to attending any of the this year's scheduled events. Completing this form does not obligate your student to attend, but gives them the option should they choose to do so this year. This form only needs to be completed once for the year.
Mrs. Harris will be coordinating and running these events, but other teachers may join us occasionally. Due to the timing of these activities, there are no nurses/doctors on site at our school, so if a student is injured during the before school time frame, we will immediately call parents and/or an Emergency Medical hotline, to ensure that proper care is taken and all students are promptly tended to, to stay as safe as possible.
We request that students be dropped off by 6:50 AM so that students are prepared and ready for activity by 7:00 AM.
Students will need to wear Gym Clothing for this session, they MUST WEAR GYM SHOES, so they do not mark up the gymnasium floor and are safe for activity. No inappropriate clothing please, or students will be asked to change and/or leave.
If any misbehavior, swearing, fighting or other mischief takes place, it is at the discretion of the staff running the session to send students to the office, a phone call to a parent or guardian will take place. Please have this conversation with your son/daughter, to ensure they fully understand the consequences.
If students are not able to follow the rules of the normal school day and are in need of behavioral-conversations or a plan, or are falling greatly behind in their studies, they will also not be allowed at the before school activities sessions. Since this is a privilege and something fun, we don't want to reward students who are unable to act appropriately, during the school day.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Megan Harris at harrism@wawmsd.org

Wisconsin Forward Exam
Wisconsin students in grades third through eighth and tenth will be participating in the Forward Exam during the March 19 - May 4 testing window.
The Forward Exam tests all students in the areas of reading and math and select grade levels in science and social studies. One or more subtests may be administered daily during the identified time frame and it is very important that your son or daughter be in school during this time. Students not in school on the scheduled testing days will be scheduled for a make-up test prior to the close of the testing window.
Click the below link for an informational brochure for families which gives more information about the assessment including its purpose, what scores will be provided, and how the scores will be used. The Forward Exam measures the knowledge and skills your student(s) should have acquired by the time they reach each grade level. Their performance on the assessment will not affect any of their current grades. Please
encourage your son or daughter to take the test seriously and do the best they can, get a good night sleep the day of the assessments, and eat a well-balanced breakfast or lunch on testing days.
If you have any questions, please contact Kari Skonecki at 414-329-6605.
Thank you,
