• Friday, September 30: Panther Spirit Day
  

Activities:

• Monday, September 26: Coronation in the Fine Arts Center at 7 p.m. - $2 entry fee
  
• Wednesday, September 28: Powderpuff Football Game 6 p.m., Panther Stadium - free to attend
  
• Friday, September 30: Tailgate & Parade outside the Rotunda from 4:30-6:30 p.m. - free to attend, food and games may cost money. Football game at 7 p.m.
  
• Saturday, October 1: “Starry Night” Semi-Formal Homecoming Dance in the Cafeteria from 7-10 p.m. - SLPHS Students Only. $5 tickets sold at lunch throughout the week.

The Panther Store will open special hours for SLPHS students during Homecoming Week with an in-person discount of 15%.

Early Bird Sales for the 2023 Yearbook are now open. Save money this fall as the cost of the yearbook in will be $90 in March 2023!

On-line sales with a base cost of $75 have begun at Baflour.com or go directly to our Balfour school web ordering site with this link:

Or save another $5 and wait until we have our annual Face to Face Early Bird Sale here at school the week of October 3-7 during each lunch period. Base cost of the Yearbook will be $70. After October 10 the cost will go up to $80 online only. Then they go up another $5 in January and then to $90 in March.

We all have Mental Health, let’s start talking about it! Mental health is all around us, but often is misunderstood. No matter who you are, what your story is- it is an important part of your life, from childhood to adolescence through adulthood. Your mental health consists of emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act every day. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Please speak up and speak out about mental health. #normalizementalhealth

The Panther Football Team and Panther Touchdowners are once again joining the Tackle Cancer fundraising campaign, benefiting the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund. This year’s Panther campaign coincides with homecoming and there are two ways to support.

1. Tackle Cancer tshirts, sweatshirts and bracelets will be on sale in the High School cafeteria, September 26-29, during all lunch periods. Supplies are limited! Prices are $20 for t-shirts and $35 for sweatshirts.
   
2. Members of the Touchdowners and 9th grade players will be collecting donations at the ticket gates and during halftime of the September 30 homecoming game.
   

In both cases, cash or Venmo will be accepted. If you are not planning to be at the homecoming game but would still like to contribute, please scan the QR code below for the Panther Touchdowners, noting Tackle Cancer.

Meeting are held in the Fine Arts Center

• 10th Grade/Sophomores – Monday, September 26 @ 9:15am
• 12th Grade/Seniors – Wednesday, October 5 @ 9:30
• 9th Grade/Freshman – Wednesday, October 5 during Panther Pride Time

Seniors need to be aware of deadlines surrounding information that Yearbook needs to complete their senior headshot section and other items before winer break.

1. There will be one “LAST CHANCE” date FREE sitting here at SLPHS on Wednesday, October 26. David Bank Studios will be here at school to offer headshots at no charge. This will be the last day for headshots to be taken unless you schedule your own with David Bank Studios.
   
2. Senior Bios/Quotes are due November 30, 2022 Please use the link to access the official Google Form to include a list of high school sports and activities/clubs that you participated in during your time here at SLPHS next to your headshot.
   
3. Baby Ads are due December 2, 2022 As a senior, your parents get to show all your cuteness by honoring you with a traditional “Senior Baby Ad.” You can purchase a Senior Deluxe Yearbook Package (includes yearbook, spring senior supplement and baby ad) and submit a baby photo and message online to be included in the yearbook. Or you can take home a “Senior Baby Ad” envelope home with details on how to submit a colored print that we will scan and a 200- 300 CHARACTER message for $20. The Senior Baby Ad envelopes will be available before the end of September.
   
4. Senior Hall of Fame Voting (deadline will be before winter break) Watch for voting on different senior standouts/superlatives for the classmate that you believe fills that role the best. Voting will be coming before winter break.
