How to register for the West Shore Marching Band

Welcome to the start of the 2022 Marching Band Season!


We are now in the process of registering students to confirm their participation and show their commitment to the organization. Please ensure you complete the entire registration process:


Here is a checklist of items to complete for the registration process:

  3. Paper - Athletic/Extracurricular Code of Conduct Form

1. Online Marching Band Registration Form

This is the most important piece of registration. Please complete this form by Friday, June 3rd. We need an accurate count of students, what instruments we need to distribute, and a line of communication via the email distribution list on Charms.

2. First-Aid/Medical Form

Due to HIPAA and medical confidentiality, we are unable to process this information online at this time. We are asking you to:


  • Download & print this form (found below) OR pick one up at rehearsal
  • Fill it out & sign
  • Bring it to the next rehearsal - turn it in by dropping it in the band box or giving it to Mr. Rupp (Music Booster President)
  • Please DO NOT email it



The First Aid form must be completed and returned by Thursday, June 9th.

3. West Shore Code of Conduct Form

This is a West Shore School District Policy Form that all students participating in extra-curricular activities/athletics need to fill out.


  • Read the expectations
  • Download & print the form on the last page OR pick one up at rehearsal
  • Sign it
  • Bring it to the next rehearsal - turn it in by dropping it in the band box or giving it to Mr. Rupp (Music Booster President)
  • Please DO NOT email it



The Code of Conduct Form must be completed and returned by Thursday, June 9th.

4. Registration Fees

*Please do not let a fee deter you from signing your child up for marching band. The District and Booster program are here to help kids stay involved. Your child's participation in this activity is worth it! Please read all fo the information, especially if you are new.*

Fees

There are two fees associated with participating in the West Shore Marching Band.


  • WSSD Activity Fee - $95 by August 9, 2022
  • West Shore Music Boosters Fee
  • $200 - Early bird if paid by June 9, 2022
  • $225 - Regular if paid by August 12, 2022
  • $250 - Late if paid after August 12, 2022

Q & A about Registration Fees

How do I pay these fees?


Fees may be paid for using student credits. Please see the Student Credits Coordinator for a Student Credit Disbursement Form.

  • Make a check out to "West Shore Music Boosters" and turn it in to the Band Box


What if I can't pay for this all at once?


The School District will help you set up a payment plan. Please contact your high school's athletic secretary to set this up. Also, the school district does allow waivers that you can fill out if you are in financial need. https://www.wssd.k12.pa.us/ActivityFee.aspx

West Shore Marching Band Summer/Fall Schedule

The Marching Band rehearsal/performance calendar is divided into 4 separate calendars. You should follow 2 of them:


  1. Full Ensemble (Labeled "WSMB")
  2. Your section - "Winds" or "Percussion" or "Color Guard"


Plan to be in attendance at all rehearsals/performances labeled with your section or WSMB.
