OUR STORY - Shout Outs!
WCS Weekly Highlights - Dec. 3-7, 2018
Shout Out! to the students in the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy at Fike HS! They are organizing a Motivate to be Great holiday event where 100 at-risk elementary students will be invited to Fike on Dec. 13 for a day of mentorship and fun. Chick-fil-A is catering lunch and the elementary students will also receive a Christmas present. Pictured planning for the event are Fike HS students Gabe C., Josh S., Nevaeh B., Caroline S., and Derrick P. Special thanks to Fike English Teacher Kim Howard, who is the advisor for the group, and to Chick-fil-A of Wilson for funding this initiative in four of our high schools.
Shout Out! to Hunt HS students in Ms. Eatmon's Business and Technology class who participated in a live chat with Torrey Smith from the Carolina Panthers. He shared with them the importance of making good choices. Students across
the state were a part of
the activity.
During Media Center Mondays at Fike HS, Exceptional Children visit the media center for activities with non-EC students. This week, the students worked together to create pictures to brighten up the media center. Special thanks to Media Coordinator Joy Edwards for organizing!
Toisnot MS Science Teacher Ms. Le wanted to Shout Out! her eighth-graders for their hard work! The students did a great job creating Christmas cards for the Pitsco STEM competition and working on projects for the Hour of Code. All of the content prepares them for the EOGs, and Ms. Le
was especially proud of the student leaders who offered to helped other classmates after they completed their own assignments.
