Attendance and Tardiness
Thank you for your attention and help with this!
Attendance
All Pebblecreek students, even our youngest, are expected to attend school on a daily basis. Nothing is more disruptive to a child’s education than irregular attendance. Consistency and routine are important to every child’s development, especially toddler and primary students who may experience anxiety.
Tardiness
Late arrival is extremely disruptive and inconsiderate to the class and the teacher.
Classes begin promptly at their scheduled time. The Montessori philosophy emphasizes the importance of three uninterrupted hours of work time. As such, children arriving after the start of the class are disruptive to the classroom environment and deprived of valuable learning time and lessons. In the event your child arrives late, please bring your child to the front office and check him/her in. The child will be escorted to the classroom by the office manager. Any child arriving after 8:30am (for toddlers, primary, and elementary) without a valid reason (such as a doctor’s appointment) will not be permitted to attend school for that day.
We depend on your family’s full support in this area. If we find that a child is late more than three (3) times in a semester, you will be notified by letter and asked to meet with the Head of School to determine whether the issue can be resolved. Failure to comply with the school’s request will result in termination of the enrollment agreement with no refund for the balance of school year.
