BPMS News
Hello Baker Prairie Community!
Thank you for your partnership in attending conferences last week. While middle school is certainly a time where we want kids to develop their independence in learning, they still need us all supporting them and communicating that we care about their successes and challenges.
We are excited to have our fall band concert tonight! It starts at 7:00 and beginning band will play first, while advanced band performs afterwards. Because of the large number of students participating in the band program, we will take a break in-between to allow beginning band families to leave.

Progress Reports
As a follow up to conferences (or for those that were unable to attend) we are sending home, via mail, students progress reports from the first six weeks of school. If you have viewed grades on ParentVue, this will not be new information, however we want to ensure that all parents have an understanding of how their child is doing in school, as we've gotten started with the school year.
We will not send a progress report home every progress period, but we felt that after this first progress report period it was very important to ensure that families knew how their kids were doing in school. We will also send home report cards, via mail, after the first semester (January 26th) and again at the end of the year.
Along with the progress report you get in the mail you will see a flyer for a parent night where parents can come in and learn how to access their students grades in ParentVue. Please see below for details.
BPMS Parent Night
Please join us for an Important Informational Parent Night at BPMS.

School Dance - Chaperones Needs
We have scheduled a school dance for Thursday, November 9th and we will need chaperones! If you are interested please be sure that you have completed the CSD Volunteer and Visitor's application and email Nancy Dula at nancy.dula@canby.k12.or.us, to let us know that you could help.
Halloween
At Baker Prairie we do not have students dress up for Halloween. Festive attire, such as black and orange, shirts with pumpkins, etc, are welcome, however we would ask that kids not dress up, to reduce distraction in the building. We will be having an assembly at the end of the day on Halloween to recognize that it's a unique day.
CSD Library Guidelines
Canby School District libraries use CSD guidelines for selecting new texts. This school year, new titles for circulation will be posted quarterly on the CSD Library Curation web page to provide our community with this information. Please click here to learn more.
