From the Arkansas Department of Education...

December-Computer Science

This month we will answer some questions and look into why computer science is such an important part of your child's education even at the elementary level. This Friday, we will be involved in the Hour of Code which will bring community members into our school and our students will show them how to code and what they have been able to produce with this form of computer science!

Some questions we will look into-

• Why is it important for my child/my student to have strong computer skills?

• What computer science classes and resources are available for my child/my student?

• What resources are available to help my child/my student learn more about opportunities in the computer science field?

Reminders for Parents-

When dropping off students after the 8:00 bell to start the school day, please walk your student in and sign them in for the day. It is important for safety that they are escorted in after this time.

Parent Resource Center!

Our Parent Resource Center is up and running. There are math and literacy materials your student can bring home to help close any gaps in learning and reinforce skills and concepts learned in the classroom. Just ask your classroom teacher for a prescription for learning and the perfect resource will be headed home with your student!
