MAP Testing (Last Round)
All testing is done on computer. Please make sure your scholars bring their Chromebooks and chargers daily, so they can complete their tests.
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
If your child did NOT take the Spring 2021 STAAR test, they are required to complete 30 hours of tutorials (according to HB4545). However, if your child receives a high score on the MAP test, they will exempt from the 30-hour requirement. Again, this option is ONLY for students who did NOT take the reading or math test last spring.
No Cellphones Allowed in ARSA Common Areas
Please be sure to read the ARSA Cellphone Policy with your child and set clear expectations with them to ensure they are in compliance.
ARSA Cellphone Policy:
1st Pickup: Returned afterschool to student for free
2nd PIckup: $5 fee for students to pick up OR parent can pick up for free
3rd Pickup: $5 fee (for either parent or student)
4th (& all subsequent) Pickups: $10 fee (for either parent or student) & Parent Conference
HELPFUL IDEAS TO MONITOR YOUR CHILD'S CELLPHONE USE
1. Check the settings of your cellphone provider and see if they allow for social media to have limited access during the school hours.
2. Download a monitoring app, so you can see what your child is accessing during the school day.
3. Monitor your child's social media and group chats.
Read this article to learn ways to monitor your child's phone use: https://www.familyeducation.com/10-apps-for-parents-to-monitor-kids-mobile-use

Parents, please ALWAYS drop off and pick up on the right-side curb.
PICK UP ON THE RIGHT
Just a reminder to park on the right side if you are waiting for your scholars in the drive-thru lane. Drop off on the right, drive-thru on the left! :)
STAGGERED DISMISSAL
We have adjusted our staggered dismissal groups & times to ensure a safer, faster exit.
3:50- Walkers (all grades)
3:55- Bus Riders (all grades)
3:58- Car Riders (6th grade)
4:03- Car Riders (7th & 8th grade)
**Please remember to drive slowly out of the campus, and follow the direction of the staff members directing traffic.
All scholars are expected to cross the street at the light! Parents, please do not encourage your children to run across the street through traffic to get in your car. This is for their safety. We will help guide them to the traffic signal to cross. It will take an extra minute or so, but safety is always FIRST! Thank you for your help with this expectation. Let's work together for their safety.
CROSSING GUARD REQUEST
We want to thank our amazing staff members for assisting us with helping students to cross the street safely. We have put in a request with the City of Dallas to provide us an official crossing guard. We will keep you posted on their response. Thank you for your support!

We are AVID at ARSA!
We are very excited to be on track to become an AVID Site of Distinction at ARSA! We believe in the AVID mission to close the opportunity gap, so scholars can be prepared for college, careers, and life.
FAMILY AVID MOMENT:
The time to think about high school classes that lead to college and/or an industry-based certification to directly enter the workforce begins NOW! Learn more about the Early College & P-Tech schools available in Dallas ISD. Make sure your child is taking the correct courses now to enter those programs ready to go: https://www.dallasisd.org/domain/14950

ARSA SEL Corner
SEL Corner
We want our Rangers to have positive attitudes and manage their emotions as they interact with others and begin to find their identities! At ARSA, our mission is everyday we develop the whole child. This begins with implementing strong SEL practices!
FAMILY SEL MOMENT:
September is #BeKind Month! As a family, think of ways that you can be kinder to one another and in your community. For example,
1. Write a note to a teacher/counselor to let them know how much you appreciate them.
2. Share five things you are grateful for to your family.
3. Clean up around the neighborhood.
