Rite of Reconciliation: What is it?
Preparing for a life of faith - March 12, 2016
Rite of Reconciliation in the Level II Atrium
Children in the Level II and Level III atrium at Emmanuel are encouraged to join us on Saturday, March 12 from 9 -12:30 pm to participate in the Rite of Reconciliation.
What is it?
While Reconciliation of a Penitent is a Sacramental Rite of the Episcopal Church, it is not always widely used within parish life. We invite all Level II and Level III students to participate as an opportunity for the child to focus on Confession and Absolution in the context of the celebration of the Holy Eucharist so your child can more fully participate in the Eucharist and to give your child another opportunity to come closer to the Good Shepherd and to think about what God wants of them.
Reception to follow at 12:00 pm - families are invited!
Synthesis of the Eucharist
By studying the Eucharist, children can reflect on its significance.
Breaking down the Rite
Children study the different parts of the rite and reflect on how they all fit together.
Become an active participant in the Eucharist
By participating in the Rite of Reconciliation, children have a greater connection to the Eucharist and reflect on how God calls them to act.
