Mercy Value for Term 2 - COMPASSION

Catherine McAuley chose certain Gospel values that were important to her to help her make decisions and live her life. She also asked her Sisters of Mercy to use these values to help them make decisions.

These Mercy Values can help us to make decisions too – how can I show Mercy Values when I’m at home, at school, or when I’m playing with my friends?

The mercy value of compassion is about loving and caring for your family and friends, and about showing kindness to people who are feeling sad or upset to help them feel better. The mercy value of compassion is about feeling that you can make a difference.

Compassion Prayer
Te Aroha

E te Atua atawhai, God of fender mercy, Your love reaches out fo everyone, and you hear -the cry of the poor. Give us hearts that are full of love for those who live with heavy burdens, who trace pain or hunger every day. Help us fo work together to change our world and fo make if better, even in small ways. May we never doubt that our love can make a difference, in Mercy’s name. Amen
