ARSA Instructional Highlights
7th Grade ELAR Team- Learn
This week the team discussed their use of anchor charts. They talked about how to make them more interactive and more learning devices rather than just room decorations. They discussed making their anchor charts so involved in their lessons so that when the charts come down for testing, students will still have the information. These PLC discussions turned into immediate action items for use in class. Students were able to see and build correct compound sentences with little assistance.
- Send text and picture to Mrs. Taylor-Glenn via email.
- Subject line must include Spotlight.
- Due by every Friday, 5pm.
Spotlight on Ms. Brown - 6th Grade Math (Learn.Achieve)
Over the past few weeks, I have noticed Ms. Brown making a real effort to connect with students and get to the reason behind the behavior while disciplining them. Way to implement our SEL training and help out the grade level team!
Spotlight on Mr. Smalls - 6th Grade Science (Learn)
Mr. Smalls has worked very hard this year and has started this year off with positive energy. He is very in touch with classroom and instructional needs for himself and his students and works to implement instructional changes to improve classroom instruction. I’m very proud of his growth.
Spotlight on POD 8C -Burks, Kimani, Torres, Hudson, & Reed
I am shouting out everyone in POD 8C (Burks, Kimani, Torres, and Hudson). This team has faced quite a few difficulties throughout the beginning of this school year but all challenges have been met head on without excuses or allowing these difficulties get the best of anyone on this team!
POD C continues to try out new things in our classrooms to make learning as fun and successful as possible. POD C proud!!!
Spotlight on Ms. Walaski - ARSA CATE Elective
I would like to spotlight Ms. Waloski. She took all her classes around to different parts of our school to clean for community service as part of the TEKS. What a great way for our students to learn about community service!

"What an honor to be teacher of the year of ARSA! I remember the start of my journey here five years ago. All the hard lessons and growth I went through my first year. Back then I dreamed of being an educator that not only taught but impacted many students lives. I would've never dreamed up an accomplishment like this!
