Dear Everitt Families:
November is starting out well!
You may have noticed that our doors looked a little strange on Monday. The construction crews are finishing some final projects for our remodel. Some of our new doors were installed this week and they've started building our secure entry vestibule. The new entry will be on the south side of the building and you should soon see new signage directing you to the new entrance on those white posts. The crew anticipates being finished with the doors and the vestibule next week.
We have a spirit week next week! You can find the information about the dress up days below. Thanks to Sources of Strength for this fun idea!
Several years ago I lost one of my best friends to cancer. She died just before Christmas and I noticed a change in myself in how I felt going into the holidays the year after she died. Over the last several years, I have started writing gratitude posts each day in November about what I’m grateful for. Researchers have long studied the effect of gratitude on the brain. In one study, a group was asked to write one letter of gratitude to another person each week. After four weeks, the group reported significantly better mental health. Perhaps this practice can make a difference for you and for your children as well as we move into November.
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!
