Meeting Held: January 28, 2016

Board Appreciation Week

Board members read letters of thanks from students and watched student interviews about their role on the Board. They heard proclamations from Governor Nixon and City Councilman Jeff Fletcher stating their appreciation for the work of the Board.

Report of the Superintendent

BHS Assistant Principal Denise Rangel was in attendance to present Teresa Deaton the Pirate Pride Community Award.

Lisa Cummings, Assistant Superintendent Human Resources, updated the Board about the Early Incentive program in place which has been offered to certified staff.

New Business: Approved Employment

The Board approved the employment of Dr. Lorenzo Rizzi as Assistant Superintendent, School Improvement. He fills a position which will be vacated at the end of the 2015-16 school year by Dr. Rhonda Hardee.


Dr. Underwood updated the Board about upcoming elections. One is not needed as the incumbents were the only ones to file. The re-organization will be April 14, 2016.

He also reminded the Board about hosting the Cass County Kids First meeting on February 5th.

Dr. Morgan informed the Board about January 30th's Polar Plunge.

Host school principal Michelle Biondo talked to the Board about some of the latest events happening at Cambridge.
