The Hoot Owl
MARCH
NOTES FOR THE MONTH:
Spring Break is one week away. We hope that you have a relaxing time off making memories with your child. While you are away, we ask that you read with your child so that they continue to improve their reading skills. Ask them questions relating to the books they are reading such as: "Who is the main character?" "What are some things you know about that character?" "What is the problem in the story?" etc...
First grade program is Thursday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. for parents.
Spring Break is March 9-13
If you need to pick up your child early from school, you must be at the school no later than 2:45 p.m. We will not pull a child to leave until you arrive. Emergency transportation changes can be taken by phone until 2:30 p.m. Daily changes need to be done using a note sent to the teacher.
Medications must be hand delivered and signed in to the nurse. Do not send medication to the nurse via your child.
PTO CHOCOLATE SALES
If you have a box or two of chocolate, please remember to send in the money by Thursday, March 5. Opened boxes of chocolate may not be returned. It must be paid for.
Our goal this year was to sell 510 boxes and if we sell them all, we stand to earn over $10,000. This will complete our goal to get our outdoor classroom and 2 gaga pits for the playground.
Thank you for helping PTO with this fundraiser by selling or buying chocolates.
Transportation
MORNING
*Parents are encouraged to go through the car rider line instead of parking and walking students in. If you choose to park, you must walk them to the door. The parking lot is not a drop off location.
*Remember that you are in a school zone in our driveway and therefore, it is against the law to be on your cell phone. Take this time to wish your child a good day.
*If you arrive and there is already a line formed, but a space between cars, please do not cut into that space. Typically spaces are left for parking spaces or the back parking lot access.
AFTERNOON
*To enter the car rider line from the feeder road, you need to go to Oak Ridge School Road, turn right and enter that direction.
*Parents may not park and walk up to get their child. You must remain in the car rider line in order to pick up your child.
*Again, remember this is a school zone and cell phone use is prohibited.
*If you arrive and there is already a line formed, but a space between cars, please do not cut into that space. Typically spaces are left for parking spaces or the back parking lot access.
