No Prefix Next Week!

Our class is taking the week off next week. There will be no new prefix list. Look for a new list to come home on February 8.

No School Monday!

Teachers will be working on grades for the first semester.

iPad Successes and Challenges

Thank you SO much for your home support with getting the iPads going (and getting them back to school)! I heard from many students who shared successes with the homework and apps at home. I also heard from students with frustrations and questions regarding 'getting on to wifi' and other obstacles. I appreciate your support and patience as we begin this new endeavor. I reminded the students that if their iPad does not work, they will always be given the paper copy of the math homework to use.

We will be taking iPads home again on Tuesday, February 2. The goal will be to complete the math homework for that day on Schoology.

**THANK YOU TO ALL FAMILIES WHO CHARGED THE IPAD AT HOME! I didn't ask students to do this, but many came back with 100% battery life. Awesome! It made a big difference. I greatly appreciate your help with this!

Winter Party Today!

Winter Party
Friday, Jan. 29, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, weather permitting. Enjoy sledding, skating, and hot cocoa with friends and family. To keep these fun events at Forest Hills we request that parents try to volunteer at a minimum of one PTO event per school year. Why not join us for this one! CLICK HERE to sign up or learn more.

Pick-A-Time Conference Scheduling System Open January 30-February 10!

-The Pick-A-Time scheduling system will be open starting tomorrow, January 30th at 9:00am to schedule your third grader's conference.

Conferences are:

February 11 from 4-8pm

February 15 from 8am-4pm

February 18 from 4-8pm

The students have shown an interest in using one of our weeks of sharing time to bring in something to share with their classmates. I've never tried this before, but with a few guidelines, it sounds like a great way to get to know each other on a new level.

During the week of February 8th, on their regular sharing day, students may BRING something to share. Please help your third grader pick out something appropriate. I will keep the items safe in the classroom during the day. Please refrain from sending anything perishable, living, or extremely valuable. Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Friendship Celebration

Our classroom celebration will be held on Friday, February 12 from 10:30-11:30am. We will be decorating Valentine bags earlier in the week to collect our valentines. If your third grader wishes to bring in valentines, please bring enough for each child. We do not have any allergies relating to candy (if you wish to include with the valentine). A pink class list is coming home today.

Report Cards

Semester 1 ends on February 1. Report cards will be available to view online after 4:00pm on Thursday, February 4th.
