9/11
9/11 was a terror attack on September 11th, 2001, from the Al Qaeda terrorist group. They hijacked four U.S commercial airplanes, and crashed three of them into major landmarks, the fourth into the ground after a successful passenger retake. These planes crashed into the World Trade Centers (or Twin Towers, and the Pentagon (base for most U.S military actions). These attacks caused a slew of new airplane regulations and specifications, limiting the amount of terror attacks that could happen in the future. All bags were now checked and X-Rayed, people patted down, limiting on sizes of liquids and other such packages, and much more security and attention payed to the people entering the planes.
War in Afghanistan
The Afghanistan war was a conflict between the U.S and the Taliban is response to the 9/11 attacks. The U.S invaded and attempted to assassinate Osama Bin Laden for 13 years, eventually killing him, and retracting in 2014. This war attempted to usurp the power of the Taliban over Afghanistan, who were controlling the country with power, not democracy. The war started in 2001, under the control of George W. Bush, but went through a change in control to Barack Obama in 2009, until 2014.
