Wedding Cakes in the United States

Wedding cakes are a custom that mostly everyone in the United States take apart of. Traditional wedding cakes are white and symbolize purity. After the wedding ceremony and dinner the bride and groom cut the cake together. This symbolizes the first task that the new couple will complete together.


Double Happiness Cakes

After the wedding ceremony the the family sends out Double Happiness Cakes. These baked cakes have dragon and phoenix imprints on them for good luck.


Tea Ceremony

Following the Wedding Ceremony the bride and groom serve tea to the grooms family. The couple serves tea in order, starting with the grooms parents and then proceeding from the oldest family members to the youngest. This was considered to be the formal introduction of the families.
