FROM SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION
Field Day 2022:
After 2 long years, over 400 students were finally able to enjoy a proper Field Day. 50% of our school (K, 1 & 2) had never experienced a Field Day… ever! It was wonderful to see all our students demonstrating their good sportsmanship and celebrating our Lisbon community.
We had so much fun! We could not have asked for better weather. Field Day was a huge success. Thank you to our amazing PE team, Mrs. Lindauere and Mr. Lentz for organizing this fun event. Thank you to all the parent volunteers throughout the day! The weather was just perfect and lent itself to a great experience for children and adults. We had over 150 parents volunteer to cheer on our student athletes as they navigated all the rotations.
Thank you to our amazing PTA who graciously donated freeze pops for our amazing lions. Thank you as well to the wonderful Lisbon staff, the PE staff appreciates and thanks each one of you.
Field Day is one of those memorable events, many of us remember into our adult years. A lot of this is due to the high number of parent volunteers who make this possible. Thanks again for your gift of time and looking forward to seeing you again in 2023.

Lisbon's AMAZING PTA
Throughout the year, we had PTA monthly meetings where Mrs. Cathy Datz, President, moved us along with the help of the board and our committee chairs. We would like to acknowledge Mrs. Datz and the PTA executive board for their hard work, flexibility, and willingness to do what is right for children. We are so appreciative of our group of volunteers! They worked well together and provided wonderful opportunities for students and staff alike.
As we move forward into next year, it is our hope to invite more and more families into the building to volunteer, read, and work with our students. Community is important in the success of our school. We have a collaborative community, and we encourage you to support the PTA and the school as we move into the 22-23 school year.

Indicators of Educational Equity Survey
Prior to Spring Break, we sent a separate email to families asking everyone to complete this important survey. We have a good response rate so far with 31% of our families participating in the survey.
As part of our school improvement process, we are asking ALL families to provide input about their equity priorities for our school. Please use one of the links below to complete the survey if you have not completed the survey already. We will use your input, along with other school data, to refine our school improvement plan for the next school year.
The survey is anonymous and available in multiple languages. If you have children at more than one school, please complete one survey per school.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Anoff at debra_anoff@hcpss.org. Thank you for your time and insights!

ISO Volunteer Families for Our New Lisbon Liaisons Program
Do you and your family:
· Like to attend our LES Events?
· Enjoy meeting and connecting with new people?
· Want to be a helpful point of contact for another family?
· Care about fostering a sense of community among the families of Lisbon Elementary?
If so, please consider joining our Lisbon Liaison Program. This program was developed to ensure that all families at Lisbon feel welcome in our community and to encourage engagement with our community. The focus of this program is to provide support for two primary populations:
· Families who have recently moved to this area and have a child(ren) in attendance at Lisbon Elementary School
· Families in which the adult caretakers are not comfortably conversant in English and have a child(ren) in attendance at Lisbon Elementary School
Liaison families serve as points of contact and familiar faces at school events, and for the day-to-day questions that may arise as these families move through Lisbon Elementary. The goal of the program is to ensure that all families understand that they are valuable members of our community, and to close any gaps that may exist in a family’s ability to access the resources and opportunities provided by the Lisbon Elementary School community. If you are interested in becoming a Liaison family, please contact either Liz Banach at lizbanach@gmail.com or Ellen Bockelman at meabbock@gmail.com.
