Principal's Update
Dear TCS Families-
I cannot say it enough - our staff at TCS is TERRIFIC and they have made our transition back to school look easy. I want to extend a big THANK YOU to our custodians, kitchen and office staff, paraprofessionals and teachers for all that they do to make TCS a warm, welcoming place for students to collaborate and learn.
You will be receiving a monthly e-newsletter from me throughout the school year and I hope that it will help keep you informed, while also providing a sneak peek at what is happening in our school. Also, if you haven't done so already, find us on Facebook; we are the "Tuftonboro Owls!"
I also send reminders in the form of emails and calls to TCS families ahead of a big event, or when I need to pass along time sensitive information. If you have not been receiving any emails this year from me, please contact us at 569-2050 to ensure that we have your correct email and phone contact information on file. That should do the trick!
I consider it an honor and a pleasure each year to be the principal here at TCS - such a terrific community school. Please reach out at any time with questions you may have. I can be reached by phone at 569-2050, or email at ksmall@govwentworth.k12.nh.us
Happy Fall!
Katie Small
Principal

What a Terrific Open House! Thank you, TCS PTCO!
Many thanks to all for taking part in such a fun, lively and community building open house!
What are the Words All About on the Fence?
On the announcements, in the classroom and at the start of our whole school meetings, we often talk about, for example, what it means to be "ready" for an activity, a class, lunch, or a challenging task ahead. Or, for another example, we may work on what being "considerate" looks like on the bus, or when engaging in a discussion with peers.
Because these habits are such an important part of our school culture, we are excited to also share them with the community by displaying them on the fence!

Good Things to Know
1. If your student is tardy, absent, dismissed or needs a bus stop change, please use the absence and dismissal notepads that were sent home for your convenience. If you need extras, please give the main office a call and we will be happy to help.
2. If you have not completed Info Snap for your student as part of the back to school registration, please do so as soon as possible. If upon doing so you encounter any issues, please contact Brooke Rines at brines@govwentworth.k12.nh.us for assistance.
3. The start of school means that we are seeing more student illness. In an effort to try to keep our school healthy, please be sure to keep your student at home if they are not feeling well and give us a call to let us know that your student will be out that day. Our policy remains that any student experiencing symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting or a fever cannot return to school until at least 24 hours have passed since the last incident. We thank you for your help and wish all a healthy fall season!
3. We LOVE volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering at TCS this year, you will need to fill out the volunteer paperwork, which includes a background check. It is never too early to get this process started, as it also includes fingerprinting and sometimes takes a bit of time to be approved. Please call our main office if you would like a packet.
