Whiteley Wildcat Update
August 16, 2019
What an amazing first week! Our staff kicked-off the week with two institute days. It was a great two days to kick off our theme Everybody In! Wednesday we began to welcome our students back and it felt amazing to have students back in our school. It has been great visiting classrooms, seeing our staff interact with our students, and hearing that the students were having extraordinary days. I look forward to seeing our students grow and learn throughout the school year.
PBIS KICK-OFF
Arrival/Departure Procedures
Frank C. Whiteley School has specific student arrival and departure procedures to be aware of. When dropping off or picking up, please enter our north parking lot off of Westbury Drive. Upon entering our lot, continue to follow the car in front of you and pull all the way forward in the line. Please do not attempt to go around cars when waiting in the drop-off line. Our students are taught to watch for the direction of our staff and to not approach their parent’s car until the car has pulled up in the line and has come to a complete stop. We also ask that you not have your children walk through the parking lot to your car. Please come to the walker door to pick-up your child. Lastly, we ask that you not leave your car when you are in the parent drop-off car line. It is important to follow any signals or direction being given by our school staff supervising our pick up and drop off process. Thank you for your cooperation and support with this important practice.
Drills
One of primary goals at Whiteley and within the district is to ensure your child’s safety. Throughout the year, your child will participate in a variety of drills. These drills allow us to practice the necessary skills with students so they are aware of what action to take if necessary. Some of the drills that your child will participate in are: fire/evacuation drills, hard-lock down drills, soft lock-down drills, and severe weather drills. These are spread out throughout the year
