Making it your own!
Step 1-Create Your Site
Once you log into your Google account, click on the grid of apps and find Sites. You are going to create a new website! Follow these initial steps to get your site created:
- Click the orange CREATE button in the top left corner.
- Name your site (refer to your teacher's instructions for this.) You want to choose a name that reflects the purpose of your website!
- Click the box above that says: BROWSE THE GALLERY FOR MORE.
- Scroll down and find MISD Google 20% Project. Click on it, then click SELECT at the bottom.
- Click the CREATE button at the top of the page.
Share Your Site
Once you create your website, EVEN BEFORE YOU GET IT DESIGNED, share it with your teacher. Follow these steps:
1. Click the SHARE button in the top right corner.
2. Select ANYONE WITH A LINK CAN VIEW.
3. Click SAVE.
4. Copy the the link.
5. Then CLICK HERE to paste your link.
Step 2-Refining The Creation Process!
Navigating Your Site
After creating your site:
- Click on the GEAR in the top right corner.
- Select EDIT SITE LAYOUT.
This is where you will be able to build your nav bar, format your site header, site width, create a custom footer, and add pages to your Nav Bar.

Select the Page Type
When you add a page to your website, you have different types of pages you can choose.

You have several types of pages to choose from. Or, create your own and save as a page template.
Keep The Look Consistent
One of the top 10 rules in web design is to keep a consistent look to your site. Your visitors need to know they haven't left your website. When your pages don't have a consistent look, they may be question this.

- Selecting your fonts for text, titles, and header
