Looking for a Program to Unify Your Students, Reduce Bullying, Increase Understanding?

Consider Champions Together! Last year, nine middle/junior high schools in Indiana experienced the joy of bringing students together in various physical activities and earned their Champions banner. *Seven of those schools earned gold status for additional fundraising in honor of Special Olympics' 50th anniversary and were honored at SOI's Summer Luncheon:

*Boston Middle School.........*Lowell Middle School.......................*Tri-West Middle School

*Brownsburg East MS...........*Mt. Vernon Middle School.................Rochester Middle School

*Brownsburg West MS..........*South Ripley Junior High School.......Shelbyville Middle School

These schools are willing to serve as mentors for Champions in the Middle; a key component is that you have students in leadership positions. Mike Hasch from Special Olympics will be at our conference, and we plan to offer trainings later in the fall, but you don't have to wait! If you are interested, you can contact Susie Highley now, and check out the pages on our website.

AMLE Innovation Challenge

What would you do with $2,500 to improve your classroom? Submit your idea in a 2-minute video and the top 3 finalists will be invited to deliver a 5-minute pitch "shark-tank style" at the AMLE Annual Conference in Nashville in November. Entries are now being accepted, through September 6. There is also a poster contest. Find all of the details on this page.

Donors Choose Special Opportunities

Those of you with active Donors Choose projects have probably been notified that Tuesday, August 13 is a special "boost" day for donations; there are rumors that other foundations may be "swooping in" with a lot of funding in the next few weeks. There are other special matches and boosts on this page including middle school sports projects, and boosts for teachers submitting for the first time next week.
