Google Sites Access for Students
Google Sites can be a great instructional resource for teachers and students when used appropriately. To ensure students are using Google Sites in connection with teaching and learning, the service is disabled by default and staff need to request access for their students to reduce misuse. Requests are processed automatically and students will have access to Google Sites in about an hour after the initial request. Students will have access to Google Sites for the remainder of the school year, however, access can be revoked if they are using the service inappropriately.
To submit a request for your students, please complete the form: Google Sites Access Form

9th Grade 4-Year Planning Sessions in November
Starting in early November all 9th graders will be meeting with their School Counselor to develop a 4-Year academic plan. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions about our amazingly diverse course offerings and career pathways and will leave the meeting with a paper copy to bring home and review with parents/guardians. Please ask your students to show you their plan! This will help inform students as they prepare for the registration process for 2023-24, which begins in January. As always if you have any questions, please feel free to contact your student's counselor.
This Week's Notes from the SVHS College & Career Center
Attention Seniors - Applying to Colleges!
Please review the SVHS College Application Process document and use this as a guide. If you add any colleges to your list of applications, please reach out to your counselor to let them know. We want to make sure all information is submitted correctly and on time.
Curious or want to learn more about a particular college? Click this link to see where some of our SVHS staff members attended. They have volunteered to speak with students about their school and experience!
Please reach out to Mr. Nalda or your counselor if you have any questions.
Financial Aid - FAFSA or MSFAA
Any student planning to attend a college or trade school after graduation should fill out the FAFSA regardless of income. Even if you may not qualify for assistance in the form of a Pell Grant, you may be eligible for other types of aid. All students are pre-qualified for a student loan by filling out the FAFSA. Some scholarships also require FAFSA information as part of their application.
Students applying to schools in the state of Maryland should also create an account on the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS) to see if they qualify for any aid from the state of Maryland. Don’t forget to send Mr. Nalda your MHEC ID Number! This way, he can upload your transcript information.
Those students ineligible to apply for the FAFSA are encouraged to fill out the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA) to receive financial aid to attend colleges or universities in the state of Maryland.
