ABSENCE PROCEDURE

As a reminder, if your child will be absent from school for any reason, then please call the school (508-252-5080), press 1 for the Absence Line, and leave a message that states the name of your child and why they will be absent. As an alternative, you can speak to Cathy Mondor, the school nurse (extension 4007). The school will call you if you don't speak with the nurse or leave a message on the Absence Line by 8:30 a.m. Please be sure to contact the school each day your child is absent, unless you have notified us that it will be an extended absence.

Also, please note that "Absences shall be considered excessive when students accumulate more than seven (7) full day unexcused absences or fourteen (14) half-day unexcused absences in a period of six (6) months. Portrait of a Graduate Committee Members Needed

Portrait of a Graduate: We are looking for students, family, and faculty/staff volunteers to join a Portrait of a Graduate creation committee.

What: We are working to create a “Portrait of a Graduate'' (PoG) for the Dighton Rehoboth Regional School District. A Portrait of a Graduate acts as a North Star to help families, students, community members, faculty, staff, and administrators stay focused on what we want all Dighton Rehoboth students to know and be able to do when they graduate after a PK - 12+ journey. The committee we are forming will work with DRRSD leaders, as well as coaches from Great Schools Partnership, to help to shepherd the process of creating the Portrait of a Graduate using feedback from across our community. This will be the springboard to strategic planning during the 2023-2024 school year.

Who? You! We are working to ensure we have community, student, and faculty/staff voice on the PoG committee.

When? We are hoping to launch this team by the end of November or beginning of December, and we will engage in the process of creating the PoG throughout the 2022-23 school year, culminating in the introduction of the PoG as a districtwide vision and tool for the 2023-24 school year.

How do I get involved? Just send an email with the subject: Portrait of a Graduate to Michele D. Blackburn, mdblackburn@drregional.org. The deadline is November 8, 2022.

We Are DR Branding Committee Members Needed

Our Career & Technical Education (CTE) Marketing class at DRRHS is working with stakeholders on the ways we can "build our brand" as a district. We also want feedback on communication. Committee members' input will be very helpful in this regard. In addition, it helps our Marketing students obtain relevant experience in working with consumers. To join in on this work, please email our Marketing teacher, Laurene Plourde, lplourde@drregional.org. The deadline is November 8, 2022.

NOVEMBER LUNCH MENU

Please remind your children that BREAKFAST is FREE!

They can grab a breakfast on their way to homeroom!

MYSCHOOLBUCKS INFORMATION

Please click here for more information on MySchoolBucks.

Account payments can be made through MySchoolBucks.com using a debit/credit card or checks at all cafeteria registers. Please make checks payable to “Dighton Rehoboth Regional School District” and include your student’s full name in the memo line.

School meals, both breakfast and lunch, are once again free (see below); however, all students must use the point of sale system to obtain a free lunch. Please encourage your child to remember their lunch pin number because it helps to move along the lunch lines. If a student forgets their pin, then the cafeteria workers need to look it up and this stalls the lunch line.

Students will need to pay for snacks not included with the free meal and this is the reason why a parent would want to put money on their child's account.

SIGN, SIGN, EVERYWHERE A SIGN…

Tis the season when your favorite candidate won or lost their run for elected office. Win or lose you can still turn this into a victory for the students of Rehoboth. If you have any old yard signs made of corrugated plastic we would love to take them off your hands. In STEM class we can turn them into sail powered cars, handmade windmills, hydraulic robotic arms, and much more. If you would like to donate these signs that you no longer need please have your child give them to Mr. Kenny at door 2 in the morning (5th and 7th grade entrance), bring them to the STEM room or drop them off at the front office. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
