FULMORE MIDDLE SCHOOL
WEEK OF NOVEMBER 21, 2016
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Greetings Falcon Families!
With Thanksgiving next week, we cannot help out realize how thankful we are to be at Fulmore.
We are thankful for our outstanding teachers who put on a spectacular STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) Night for our Falcon families. All ages were challenged and enjoyed learning together on a wide variety of topics.
We are thankful for our outstanding thespians who received a superior rating at the One Act Play Festival this week. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! Our Falcons were once again, the crowd favorite.
We are thankful for our Quiz Bowl students who last weekend participated in the Brahma Bowl in San Antonio. Hats off to TEAM B- Nick, Nevin, Jasmine, and Hobbs who finished in third place. Applause! Applause, to Team A- Maverick, Sam, Nick, and Kenny who finished first place, way to go!
We are thankful for our amazing musicians! Congratulations to all Fulmore Falcon Band students who auditioned for District Band on Saturday, November 5th at Murchison Middle School. Twelve students earned the honor of placing in this year's District Band: Elijah (flute), Albert (oboe), Karl (clarinet), Timothy (clarinet), Michael (bass clarinet), Victoria (alto saxophone), Nick (alto & tenor saxophone), Philip (French horn), Brooke (euphonium), Nick (tuba), and Zack (tuba).
Three of these students qualified to audition for Region Band on Saturday, November 12th at Covington Middle School: Karl (clarinet), Victoria (alto saxophone), and Nick (tenor saxophone). Congratulations to Nick on earning a chair in the Region Symphonic Band and to Victoria for earning a chair in the Region Concert Band. Both students will represent Fulmore during the Region Band performance on Saturday, December 10th at 2:30 pm, located at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. Way to go Falcons!
We are thankful for our PTA and staff members who made our annual Thanksgiving luncheon a huge success. PTA provided the main dish and Falcon staff brought all the tasty sides making the most memorable Thanksgiving dinner.
We are thankful for the opportunity to vote on the 2017-2018 calendar. Please note that the Thanksgiving holiday is longer, the winter holiday is shorter. To vote, please copy and paste the URL below into your internet browser:

We are thankful for our partnerships. You may have noticed some new signs on our school’s fence this week. We are pleased to welcome several community businesses and organizations to our Fulmore Partnership program. These business support Fulmore by contributing money and donations that help our extracurricular programs, provide food to our students, faculty and staff, and keep our campus beautiful. We are happy to have them as our partners and hope you will consider them as a neighborhood service provider. Speaking of fundraising, as we move into the Thanksgiving break, please help Fulmore by doing the following:
1) If you’d like to become a Fulmore Community Partner, please contact me. Let’s talk about a mutually beneficial partnership for Fulmore and your local business.
2) If you’re planning on some online shopping over the break, please start your shopping at Fulmore’s Amazon page and Fulmore gets a percentage of every purchase.
3) There are links to share part of your purchases at Costco, Randall’s and Target as well at our Community Donor webpage.
We wish all Falcons and their families a restful and peaceful Thanksgiving. Fulmore has much to be thankful for: fabulous students, committed families, and a dedicated staff. Together, we put the more in Fulmore!!
