Thank You!
It is necessary for me to begin this newsletter by thanking Cindy. It is easy to see why Cindy was such a beloved principal and will always be an integral member of the Sabold Community. She has been an incredible help throughout this transition- and that may be the understatement of the year. I am, and we all are, very lucky to continue to have her as an invaluable resource in Springfield. Thank you, Cindy.
I want to extend a special thank you to Hope, Chris, Robin, and Mike for their hard work (and extra work with a new principal in the building). They have been doing an incredible job getting our school ready for September. Their efforts do not go unnoticed.
Thank you for filling out the survey I sent out a few weeks ago. It has been really helpful for me to learn more about all of you. If you have not had the chance to fill it out yet, or did not get the email, here is the link: Sabold Staff Survey
As much as I love summer, I am excited to start the school year. There is great anticipation with the start of a new year for the students as well as all of us. The passion, expectations, and high levels of success that take place in Springfield are unparalleled. I know I do not need to explain to you the hard work ahead of us. With that said, enjoy your summer. You earned it, and you deserve it. I will be in touch again in a few weeks with more details about the 2013-2014 school year. In the meantime, feel free to contact me at any time with your questions or concerns.
Sabold Strong
Welcome!
We know Joan Taylor left big shoes to fill, and heavy hearts among Sabold staff and students. Joan has been a great help in this transitional phase of a new year and a new guidance counselor. With that said, I am ecstatic about Ivy Harris joining our Sabold team:
Ivy Harris is very excited to be named the new school counselor at Sabold
Elementary. She received her Bachelors degree in Business from Old Dominion University. While living in Los Angeles for almost 5 years, she found her passion and pursued it by becoming an educator and earning a Master’s degree in Educational Counseling, K-12. Mrs. Harris enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, and watching “funny” movies. She is caring, light-hearted, and passionate about being an effective school counselor. She is looking forward to building long-lasting relationships with her students, their families, and the community of Harvey C. Sabold Elementary.
I am also delighted to welcome Molly Moran to Sabold Elementary. Molly willl be joining our third grade team:
Hello! My name is Molly Moran. I was born and raised in Scranton, PA, where I taught 6th grade Language Arts for the past two years. I graduated from Temple University in 2011, with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education. I am a proud aunt of two nephews, so when I am not running, reading, or spending time with friends, I enjoy playing with them. I am beyond excited to be teaching 3rd grade, and I can't wait for my new adventure at Springfield to begin!
In addition to the new members of our Sabold community, we have some returning members in new and/or changing roles.
We are excited about Dawn Heckman joining our fifth grade team, and Ryne Adolph being in Room 5 as a member of our third grade team. I am also happy to announce that Dana Mondevergine will be filling in for Kim DiBiasi in fourth grade while she is on maternity leave.
We are wrapping up our interviews for our Music Teacher. We will be announcing our new teacher soon!
