Monday - December 7, 2015

Today, we read "Turkey Claus" written by Wendi Silvano and illustrated by Lee Harper. We met Turkey in a Thanksgiving story. He continues to have a serious problem much like the one he had in "Turkey Trouble". It was funny and we laughed.

We continue to read books written by Wendi Silvano and illustrated by Lee Harper. Some classes needed to review "Turkey Trouble" from Thanksgiving before going on to "Turkey Claus". Story maps help us to organize and remember what the story is about. Who, what, when, where, why and how are important parts of a story map.

Wednesday - December 9, 2015

The main characters in "Turkey Claus" are Turkey, different elves and finally, Santa.

The story takes place at Christmas on the farm and then the North Pole.

Once again Turkey has a serious problem to solve. Solving serious problems always requires a creative plan.

Today, we finished our poem "Happy Holidays".

We toured the library to see what has been added to the Christmas decorations.

Turkey's problem is the same as it was in the Thanksgiving story. Again, his plan involves costumes or disguises. Again, someone recognizes him and the plan doesn't work.

This book is funny like the Thanksgiving one and we laughed.

Friday - December 11, 2015

Daily things are added to the Christmas theme in the library.

We took a guided tour to check out interesting things.

Classes heard a story about a nutcracker.
