Sixth Grade Band Bulletin
November Edition
Giving Thanks
I hope you have enjoyed the wonderful mild weather the last few weeks. I guess it had to get cold at some point. As we get close to Thanksgiving, it's always good to give thanks for what we have. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to teach your child at this great school. Each day, I get to work with three concert bands made up of eager, hardworking sixth grade band students. I get so excited when I see them putting in the effort to improve. Even when mistakes happen (which is often), the students show the grit and desire to get better. I'm thankful to work with amazing colleagues and have such a supportive administration. I'm also thankful for supportive parents. It means so much when I see parents looking to help and support their children with their musical pursuits. Yes, there is plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!
This newsletter will focus on a few important topics. As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns should they arrise.
Sincerely
Rob Buckley

Studetns who take private lessons are expected to participate. Students who do not take private lessons are encouraged to attend also. I will provide the music for students that do not take private lessons. Private teachers will provide the music for private students.
We passed out packets on Friday. Registration for this event is online only. Please go to this link http://tinyurl.com/jzo4c95 to register for the Solo.
I will email the packet home right after this email. In the packet, you can get all of the information about this event including a payment slip that should be included with the fee ($9.00).
Students who participate performing a solo need to have a piano accompanist (except for snare drum). If you or someone you know can accompany your child, that is totally fine. If you do not have an accompanist, there is a list of accompanists in the packet. Please contact the accompanist ASAP as their schedules do fill up.
Progress Reports Coming Home via Email
