We have made it to the Final Four in our Boone School Renaming Bracket! Next week, all students will have the opportunity to vote on Monday 5/23, with absentee voting on Tuesday 5/24. All voting must be completed by 5/24, as votes will be counted on 5/25, and the final 2 names announced on 5/26. Parent/Guardian and community voting for this next round will take place at Door 10 (Auditorium) at the following dates/times:

Monday 5/23/22 - 8:00-8:30AM and 3:00-3:30PM

Tuesday 5/24/22 - 8:00-8:30AM and 3:00-3:30PM

Thank you to everyone that was able to take the community survey regarding outdoor lunch. We appreciate your input. Here is a summary of the survey results.

-Community Response : 93.9% support students eating outside and 6.1% did not support students eating outside (Total submissions 66)

-Staff/Student Responses: 59% support eating outside and 41% do not support eating outside (Total submissions: 239)

After reviewing the survey results and further discussion at the LSC meeting on 5/17/22, we have decided to pilot a hybrid outdoor lunch model for the next three weeks of school. This will mean that students that are currently eating in classrooms (1st, 3rd, 5th, and 8th) will eat at picnic tables on the south lawn as long as it is not inclement weather. On inclement weather days, students will eat in their classrooms. Students that are currently eating in the MPR/cafeteria will remain eating in the cafeteria during this time. At the end of the year, we plan to ask students (and staff supervising outdoor lunch) for feedback on their experience. This additional feedback will help inform our decisions for next fall. Thank you again for sharing your voice and contributing to the decision making process. This plan will begin on Monday, May 23rd weather permitting.

Parent Portal gives parents the ability to view students' grades in real time. If you are setting up your Parent Portal account for the first time, please visit the First Time Parent Portal Set-Up link. This is a one-time step and not necessary after every school year. Once you receive your email from Aspen to help set up your username and password, you can access Parent Portal at Aspen Parent Portal.

If you already have a Parent Portal account, but are running into technical issues (forgot password, locked out, etc), please email Boone's tech coordinator Patrick Chi (ptchi@cps.edu) so he can reset your account.
