Child Abuse and Neglect
Make a Change in the World
Child abuse is anything that hurts a child emotionally, sexually, or physically. Neglect can also be considered child abuse. Hurting a child—bringing pain upon a living, human being—is wrong in more ways than one.
Child abuse is something that stays with the victim forever. The scars, both physical and mental, are carried everyday. Some victims even grow up to be the predator themselves, thinking that it's right. But not all children get the chance to grow up.

Physical abuse is not the only child abuse. Emotional abuse and neglect also leave a lasting impact and mental scars.
Child abuse prevents children from forming healthy bonds with people. Seth Pollak, an assistant professor of psychology and psychiatry, conducted a harmless experiment where children, both abused and not, were asked to wear a cap to measure their brain stimuli for certain reactions to emotions. Long term problems caused by child abuse can be preventing the victims of being able to form healthy relationships with others including peers and adults.
Look out for child abuse--it can happen to anyone you know, even yourself.
