Fire Marshal Visit
The fire marshal came on Monday and we had a nice visit. A couple of notable things...
- exit maps need to go next to each door (they'll be in your boxes in August)
- cords should be secured under a "bridge" instead of under a carpet. Rob and I will work on purchasing those materials this summer for use as you reorganize your classroom
- as you set up/break down your classroom next year, we'll just want to continue to keep the fire prevention tips in mind
- I don't think he'll be back to check on us until next year, but if he does, I'll keep you posted
Big Changes in Classified Staff Team
Certificated Staff - Ready Math Online Toolkit
A reminder that paper math materials will be provided for all K-5 classes this fall. Other schools who have been using these materials have seen a strong increase in Math achievement, and have reported that the content is better aligned to the math standards/framework. TBES and COES have been using these materials most consistently - ask your teaching colleagues about it!
I learned today that there are plans in the works for summer PD to learn more about Ready Math - there might be a July training, but definitely there will be training in August!
Access to Campus Over the Summer
Rob and Arty work all summer (except for holidays like July 4th). The office will be open to the public until Friday, 6/14 at 4 pm, but Pam and/or Jen work until the end of June. If you need to access the campus in the evening/on a weekend, feel free to use your alarm card. Call Jen on her cell (702 324 6884) if you need anything at any point this summer. Pam is back in the office in late July and the office is open to the public again on August 5th.
Quick Reminders
- Summer PD offerings are available to review & sign up for online. My understanding is that the teacher daily rate will be offered. Click here to view the spreadsheet.
- If you plan to order items with 2019-20 funds, you can turn in POs to Pam ASAP and we'll process them in late July/early August!
