October 13, 2018: From Practical Ed-Tip of the Week:
ViewPure is one of my longest standing recommendations for viewing YouTube videos without distractions. At its basic level to use View Pure just copy the link of a video into the "purifier" on the View Pure website and then click purify. Your "purified" video will be displayed on a blank white background. You can password-protect links to videos that you share through ViewPure (click here for directions). In the last year ViewPure expanded to offer curated collections of educational videos.

See Behavior Specialist area above. Kim has been working hard to update our documents and forms. A Tiogue Behavior Form Google Shared Folder has been set up with the latest information. Kim has the referral folder system in place on her office door.
Some faculty and staff asked about extending our Start With Hello work-
Like I had expressed at our first meeting of the school year, PBIS, Conscious Discipline, Restorative Practices, SEL, Start With Hello, all link up nicely together - their philosophies have a common thread can be found tying all programs together.
So, the short answer is, YES! Keep the work moving forward, and share your ideas.
We can post them to this section of the newsletter.
Here is a nice video on YouTube that Alicia from Blackrock shared with her faculty/staff:

DENTAL: Dr. Gordon has been rescheduled to December 7th.
Flu Clinic Information and
RIDE and OSHA require all teachers to complete a Universal precaution (required), and Epi Pen (not required, but encouraged) training yearly. I will be reviewing both of these at our orientation.
For Universal Precautions:
Here is the training on RIDE where you can read through and print a certificate of completion. This is REQUIRED bloodborne pathogens training. Please sign the certificate of completion and turn it into me. I am required to keep a record of completion.

For Epi Pen:
Here is the link to the Epi Pen video, please cut and paste in your browser. It reviews sign and symptoms of anaphylaxis (life threatening allergy), and shows you how to administer an Epi Pen.

WELCOME BREAKFAST - OCT 18th
Hello All,
We hope everyone is well and your school year is off to a terrific start! Now that we're in the rhythm of the year, Sue and I would like to welcome all of our new staff and programs to Tiogue School. I know that many of you have personally made them feel welcome by reaching out and welcoming our kids into your classrooms. Since there are so many new faces we would like to hold a breakfast in their honor to give everyone a chance to meet our new colleagues and help them each feel welcome. I know you will all agree with us what an asset they are to our school, and how they made the transition to our school community seamless. They truly are an amazing group!!! Its time to meet and greet our new staff!
Please join us in the faculty room on Thursday October 18, at 7:45 (or whenever you can make it) to meet and socialize with our new fabulous colleagues!
What a great way to bring the "fun" back to Tiogue School!!
In Unity,
Tara and Sue Toohey Kaye
