Junior Golf Camp!

Junior Golf Camp is an introductory program for beginning golfers (boys and girls) 8-14 years of age. Camp will be held Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hills Golf Center. Instruction will include basic swing fundamentals (grip, aim & setup) putting, chipping, and bunker play. During the golf camp, participants will play golf everyday and be given a 30 minute presentation dealing with the rules of golf and proper etiquette. Clubs will be available on a first-come,-first-serve basis.

Summer Baseball and Softball Programs!

Do you have a child(ren) entering Kindergarten - 12th grade this next school year? We offer tee-ball and coach-pitch programs for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders (teams formed by school). We offer pitching machine leagues for 3rd and 4th grade softball and baseball players (teams formed by school). 5th grade - High School league are live pitching (teams formed by draft). Preschool Sports Programs!

Do you have a preschooler that would like to play sports? We have a parent-child program called Start Smart. We are currently taking registration for Start Smart Soccer (ages 3-5); Start Smart Golf (ages 5-7) and Start Smart Baseball (ages 3-5). Miracle League Baseball!

Jefferson City Parks and Recreation and the Jefferson City Evening Lions are offering a non-competitive baseball league in 2013 for Jefferson City area kids, ages 5-18, with physical and developmental disabilities or other conditions that keep them from participating in regular baseball leagues. Every child bats and fields in each inning and a "baseball buddy" will be available to help him/her. Game rules are flexible so that every child will have the chance to play in an athletic environment structured to each child’s ability.

The league is designed to help every child, regardless of ability, be successful and have fun! The league is currently forming and games will be played for six weeks on Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m. starting May 3rd.

Swimming Lessons for All Ages!

We offer swimming lessons at both Memorial Park Family Aquatic Center and Ellis-Porter Pool. We are currently taking registration for swimming lessons. Registration will be taken until one week prior to the start of lessons or until the lesson fills. We offer Parent and Child, Toddler, Preschool, Learn-to-Swim and private lessons. Easter Egg Hunt!

Saturday, March 30th, 11am

The Jefferson City Jaycees and Parks and Recreation Department are co-­sponsoring the 28th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, at Memorial Park. This special event will be open to children ages 2 to 7 years old.

The children will be divided into three age groups and the park will be ­divided into three sections. Children ages 2 and 3 will begin their hunt at 11:00 a.m.; ages 4 and 5 at 11:10 a.m. and ages 6 and 7 at 11:20 a.m. Parents will not be allowed in the hunting area except for the 2 and 3 year old area.

Registration fee is $1 per child and will be accepted at the park the day of the event. All proceeds go to benefit other community projects in Jefferson City.

Storybook Trails! "Pinkalicious"

Fun for everyone! Jefferson City Parks and Recreation, Scholastic Inc. and Luetkemeyer Signs are bringing storybooks to the trail (reading, exercising & family time all in one; run, walk or ride your bike). Storybooks will be at the 5-8 year old reading level. Books are available after 12 pm on the starting date.

Pitch, Hit and Run!

Saturday, April 13th, 9am

Vivion Field, Washington Park, Jefferson City, MO

Boys and girls ages 7-14 will compete separately in four different age groups (7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14). Age is determined as of July 17, 2013.

All participants need to submit a copy of their birth certificate at all levels of competition to be eligible to compete.

You may pre-register at the Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Department, 427 Monroe Street by 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 12. Registrations will also be accepted at Vivion Field between 8 - 8:30 a.m. the day of the event.

Winners will advance to the sectional competition (TBA) with the chance to advance to the Team Championship (TBA) at Busch Stadium and the National Finals. National finalists receive a trip to the 2013 All-Star Game.

Spring Skating Recital

Join us for the end of the season exhibition of talent with skaters from all levels and ages. The Spring Skating Recital will be held Wednesday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m.

Sign-up deadline is April 16. Any skater with a spotlight number in the Ice Show is ineligible to participate.

A $1 donation is requested to help make improvements to the facility through the Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Foundation.
