End-of-Year Technology Procedures
Below are some reminders regarding the end-of-year procedures for technology.
- If you are returning to Cox Mill next year and have school issued technology at home, I am not collecting it at this time.
- If you are NOT returning to Cox Mill next year and have school issued technology, I am collecting your materials. Please label your devices and chargers using tape and a marker with your name and return to the table outside my office.
- ALL STAFF (certified, TAs, office, etc.) who have technology at home from the school, please complete this form to help me with inventory. Staff not returning to CMES, please complete the form as well to indicate which devices you are returning to the school.

Canvas: Sandbox Course & Homepage Template 2020-21
Canvas Training Opportunities
Click the link above to access a self-paced Canvas course that is beneficial for anyone using Canvas. Those making the switch over to Canvas, this is a great course to learn then ins and outs of Canvas. Teachers who have already been using Canvas will find this course beneficial as it can deepen your understanding of this platform since it is still relatively new to most of us. In the course are five badges you can earn as you work through the modules. Each badge is worth 0.2 DLC CEUs. If you earn all five badges, you will earn 1.0 CEU in Digital Learning Credits. More information to come about signing up in NCEES.
Google Classroom to Canvas
There is a NEW Google Assignments in Canvas integration that has been released. Before this feature can be active in our accounts, Google must approve our district to participate. CCS has applied and as soon as we are approved, additional training will be released for teachers who are switching from Google Classroom to Canvas.
The flyer below includes information about CCS Growing with Canvas and Google Classroom to Canvas.
Canvas: End-of-Year Procedures for 2019-20
As a reminder from last week, teachers who have been using Canvas since remote learning began have a few options available to backup their course for the upcoming school year. These options are outlined below.
- Do nothing. Next year, copy content from previous course to new course.
- Export as a file you can save to your flash drive or desktop and import to your course next year.
- Create a manual course, copy the content into your course, edit over the summer months to prepare for next year.(More information about manual courses and templates for next year coming soon).
- Share to commons, then import to new course at beginning of year.
Click here for a slideshow that explains these four options in more detail. If you need help, send me an email and we can discuss what may be best for you. Personally, option numbers 1 and 3 are my favorite.
Istation Training Dates
**Additional PD opportunities for Istation and iReady will be available in the fall.
