Super Hero Celebration

Students have filled the paw bank and we will celebrate! On Wednesday, May 29, students and staff are invited to dress like super heroes for the day. Please remember that "costumes" should follow the rules of our Halloween parade where vision should not be at all obstructed and super heroes "costumes" should not include violence, blood or weapons. Should be a fun day!

Panther Palooza

Permission forms for Panther Palooza have gone home, if you have not already done so, please get forms back ASAP, as there is preparation that needs to happen through the front office. Please read drop off and pick-up instructions carefully as students are not at Lothrop at all on the day of Panter Palooza. All drop off and pick-up happens at the Rec. Looking forward to another fun-filled day of play and end of year celebration.

Hot Lunch Accounts

Please be sure to check balances for hot lunch accounts with Abbey Group. They will need to be paid in full before the end of the school year. If you should have questions about your account, please contact Linda by calling the school.

OVUU Task Force Community Working Group Recap

The OVUU Board appointed Planning Task Force (Task Force) hosted a very engaged Community Input Working Group on Monday, April 29th. The goal of the meeting was to receive community input on initial plan elements that outline proactive solutions for the district focused on the next 2-5-10 years to account for a series of triggers that may impact change (declining enrollment, legislation, facilities maintenance, etc.).

The initial plan was developed over 15 months, 25 meetings, thorough review of 92 pages of district data and ongoing community input.

A Farewell Message from Mr. Houston

It has been six years since I started working here at Lothrop and what a journey it has been, but sadly this year will be my last here at Lothrop. Many of you know that I live in New York and travel everyday to Lothrop, Leicester, and Sudbury to assist our students in expressing themselves and developing their creativity. I have accepted a position closer to home which will allow me to be more available for my family. I will miss quite a lot here at Lothrop, but I will miss the students the most. They are such smart, talented, and beautiful children and I wish great things for them in the future. Thank you for being an amazing community.

News from the Music Room

Be sure to catch Lothrop 5/6 band students this Monday at Memorial Day celebrations in Pittsford (12:30pm) and Brandon (10:00am)! Parents, please be sure to drop your child at Lothrop no later than 9am to catch the bus! Lunch will be provided for students thanks to our incredible PTO!

Also, the Lothrop Chorus will be singing on June 6th at the Brandon Carnival. Lothrop singers will be performing at 6:30, admission is free to adults and children! Parents, please make sure your child is at Lothrop to catch the bus at 5:30pm.

Don't miss the Kindergarten Concert, "Ants in My Pants" on Tuesday, June 4th at 6:30pm in the Gym!

P.E. Assembly

The month of May is National Fitness and Sports month. We are able to celebrate around our community and at Lothrop in many different ways! At the assembly last Friday, May 17th, some first graders were able to show the school a dance they learned in PE class called the "Mexican Hat Dance". 5th and 6th graders from Lothrop's fitness team were able to demonstrate their own fitness routine for the school as well!

Do you have Library books in your car?

The last day for students to check out books will be Friday, May 24th.

All books are due back to the library on May 31st.

Late notices will go home on June 3rd.

We are due to complete an inventory this year and the more books returned by 5/31, the more helpful that will be. Thank you!
