SNE DATA
Key Action 3: Data Driven Instruction: Utilize a progress monitoring system to include the four Key Components of Data Driven Instruction: Culture, Assessment, Analysis, and Action.
The data walls for SNES are located in the Instructional Coaches' Office. The data being analyzed is Interim Assessments, Istation (PK-2), and RM (2-5). Data will be analyzed weekly, monthly and by six weeks Interim Assessments. As a school, we will take part in analyzing data at our weekly grade level meetings and as an entire staff. SNE is off to a great start!
We are looking forward to reaching our school goals:
- 80% of K-5 students will write at the proficient level as measured by TEKS Resource System Writing Rubric (K-2) and STAAR Writing Rubric fro 3-5 by May 2016.
- 70% of K-2 students will score in Tier I and Tier II as measured by ISIP in their native language by January 2016 and 85% by May 2016.

A NOTE FROM PTA-FALL CARNIVAL
The 2nd Annual SNE Fall Carnival will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Dinner will be provided by the PTA for those who choose to stay and volunteer for the carnival. We are asking for each grade level to conduct at least 2 games and/or activity. All games will require one ticket that is worth 50 cents. Each booth will receive 50% of their total sales for their classroom or grade level supplies/needs. Te PTA will provide each booth with candy, prizes and a box for storage. After the carnival, we will do a final ticket count and sales no later than Wednesday, October 28, 2015. You will have until November 24, 2015 to utilize all funds.
There will be a form in the mail-room after Thursday, please fill out the form to list what you will be doing for the carnival so we can make sure that we do not have more than one of the same ideas.
Listed below is what activities are taken so far by the PTA:
· Face painting
· Tattoos
· Hair color
· Costume contest
All food and drinks will be sold by the PTA only.
Thank you so much for helping make this a fun and exciting event for our students! We need as many volunteers as possible to make this a great event. Please provide me their names and numbers of parents that would like to volunteer.
PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Once upon a time there were rotary telephones, washboard, incurable diseases, horses and buggies and "Patamobiles", which in spanglish means walking by foot. Once upon a time, there were seregated schools and limited educational opportunities. Now we have cellular telephones that are attached to every move we make. There are cures for many diseases. Vehicles travel on land, sea, air, and in outer space at unheard of speeds. And... Seagoville North Elementary School is part of a free public school system that offers educational opportunities to all children.
Change is inevitable. Every school year guarantees changes in personnel, students, curriculum, policies, etc. Some changes are sudden, some are gradual, and some are small. The agents of change in telephones, washing machines, and incurable diseases did not find solutions to their snags overnight. The agents of change did not work in isolation. They sought advice, collaborated and eventually reached the point of success.
Progress is optional. Today, we still seek improvements in the educational system. We can either stay stagnant or be the positive change agents in the lives of our students.
