Dear Rocket Families,

We have had a fabulous start to the new school year. Mrs. Borders and I have been out in the building visiting classrooms and working in the cafe, and the students are engaged and enjoying school! We met with each classroom to discuss the following goals for this school year:

  • Be Kind
  • Always SOAR
  • Do your personal best

This week we reviewed lots of school routines including our SOAR Code to help students learn procedures in the building. Students should always ask themselves if they are S = Safe, O = Orderly, A = Attentive, and R = Respectful before acting. Ask your child(ren) to tell you how they applied the SOAR Code this week at Peeples. We have heard lots of great examples of how students are already applying these goals. Peeples sure is a great place to be!!

As we continue to work together, please take a moment to read this short article, 10 Ways to Help Your Child Succeed in Elementary School, from Kids Health.

We hope all of our Rocket Leaders enjoy some time to rest and relax this weekend. Below are a few updates from Peeples.

COVID-19 Protocol Updates

What do I do if my child tests positive for Covid-19? If a student is positive or symptomatic, they should stay at home until their symptoms are improving, they are feeling better, and are fever-free for 24-hours without fever-reducing medications. If they visit their doctor, they should follow their doctor's instructions based on their individual health needs. Please do communicate with your student's homeroom teacher if you student is absent due to illness and complete the Online Absence Excuse form located on our school webpage under Quick Links.

Curriculum Night (3rd-5th Grade Students)

Message from our Art Teacher, Jill Daniel

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep."

Welcome back to the Art Room, Peeples Families!

We are already off to an exciting start to the year in our Art Room. This year we will once again be posting our art projects on Artsonia, which not only lets us share the art work with friends and relatives far away, but also offers us a wonderful way to earn funds for the art room through customized keepsakes. Click here to join Artsonia!

I am looking forward to a great year!
