VPHS Update
August 13 Start of School
A Note From Dr. Luhning
VPHS Family,
I hope this message finds each of you and your family and friends healthy and well. As each of you are well aware, the Valley Park School District made the difficult decision to begin the year 100% virtually through the 1st quarter, October 23rd. Please read through each of the sections of this update. There is quite a bit of information that will be beneficial as we move into the start of school.
I am aware that you will have many questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me by email or by phone...I am happy to answer any questions.
I am excited to share with you that virtual school will look very different than it did last spring.
Students who chose the in person virtual option will be expected to attend all classes, perform assigned tasks, learn current and new material, and receive feedback and grades that will count.
Our teachers have been working diligently to make this virtual experience positive and to create engaging learning opportunities for all students.
Students that chose the 100% Edgenuity pathway will be monitored by VPHS certified teaching staff. Students that are not making adequate progress or are struggling to access curriculum will be supported by our certified staff and referred to content teachers.
I know virtual school is different but we will support one another and get through this together.
We are Valley Park Strong!
Dr. Luhning
Our mission is to provide a supportive, personalized environment in which students will grow strong intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially today in preparation for tomorrow.
