Spring is here!

We had a wonderful week of celebrating reading with our Book Fair and it was great to see everyone at parent night supporting education and promoting reading. Arguably the most important life skill is that of literacy. While it's the schools main purpose to teach literacy skills, the parents role of supporting, encouraging, and reading with your child is just as important. We thank you for your partnership in helping your child to be a successful reader!

A huge THANKS to Claire Ford our Media Information Specialist, the PTO Book Fair Co-chairs - Alexandra Morrison and Faith Dominick among the many other parent volunteers for making this a success!

We wish everyone a safe and happy Spring Break and see you back on March 20th!

Kindergarten parents - Mark your calendar!

This year our Kindergarten graduation location will be at Friendswood Junior High, due to the construction at the high school auditorium. Since the FJH auditorium is a little smaller, we will have to limit the number of visitors to two seats per child.

We thank you for your understanding during our "growing pains" and can't wait to get into our new building and hold future graduations at the new Cline.

Progress at the new Cline

The construction crew is moving right along and making some good headway. Recently Mrs. McCarty and myself had the opportunity to tour the inside of the new building with Mr. Roher, school board members, city council member (former FISD Superintendent) Trish Hanks, and the mayor - Mike Foreman. The updated substantial completion date is late June and we can't wait to get into the new building. In the video, you can start to see where the track will be and an exciting view of the learning commons from the second floor.

Our collaboration spaces in each grade level will be amazing with lots of glass allowing the natural light to come into the building. You can look out over the neighborhood from the second floor and we know both teachers and kids will enjoy this view as they are working on projects, writing stories, or having conversations about their learning.
