December 2022 Edition
The Board and Executive Team welcomed Mrs. Alexis Capes, Member at Large, to the QACPS Board of Education. Mrs. Capes and current Board Member, Ms. Shannon Bent, District 1, received Commissions from Governor Hogan and were sworn in on December 5, 2022. Congratulations to Mrs. Capes and Ms. Bent!

Cenergistic Regional VP, Mary Ellen Leder, presented the Board with details on Cenergistic, LLC before the Contract approval was voted upon.
The Board approved the contract with Cenergistic, LLC to provide comprehensive energy conservation and management services to QACPS.
The Board approved Guitar Musicianship II as a course of study at QACHS & KIHS for the 2023-2024 Program of Study. No fiscal Impact.
The Board approved Piano Musicianship II as a course of study at QACHS & KIHS for the 2023-2024 Program of Study. No fiscal Impact.
The Board approved the overnight field trip for the QACHS Girls Varsity basketball team to travel to Princess Anne, MD & Salisbury, MD to compete in the 2022 Governor's Basketball Challenge Tournament. The team fundraised the associated costs.
The Board approved the overnight field trip for the KIHS Wrestling team to travel to Berlin, MD to compete in the "War On The Shore" Wrestling Tournament. The team fundraised the associated costs.
The Board approved Robin Finch of Queen Anne's Bus Lines, LLC to purchase a new/used bus for the 2023-2024 school year to replace bus #2110. Fiscal Impact: PVA (approximately $23,000.00). Budget Source: FY24 Operating Budget.
The Board approved Jennifer Mansfield of Queen Anne's Bus Lines, LLC to purchase a new/used bus for the 2023-2024 school year to replace bus #5010. Fiscal Impact: PVA (approximately $23,000.00). Budget Source: FY24 Operating Budget.

The Board approved Mary Meehan as the teacher/employee representative for the Eastern Shore of Maryland Educational Consortium (ESMEC) Health Trust Alliance.
The Board approved the contract with Energy Transfer Solutions, LLC to replace the Heat Recovery Water Cooled Unit with Generation 5 Heat Recovery Water Cooled Units at STMS. Fiscal Impact: $46,695.00. Budget Source: FY23 Maintenance Unrestricted.
