Apps of the Fortnight
EducreationsEducreations is a minature whiteboard. Students can use it just like an interactive smartboard but on the iPad. You could have students demonstrate their understanding of a concept by drawing and explaining the concept, whilst the app records it for them. They could then email it off to you so you can check their understanding. Students could use it to practice handwriting, to post a picture and annotate it or write a story. The possibilities for this app are endless. This app can be found in the Story Telling folder. | Targeting Maths 2This is an excellent app to reinforce skills based on the Maths curriculum. It is prepared by the writers of Targeting Maths textbooks and follows their resource but you do not need to be using their Maths resource to benefit. Most Maths concepts you have been teaching will be found in here. Great to reinforce or build confidence in students knowledge. We also have Targeting Maths 6 (which was free last week) which will be put on iPads in the holidays. These are expensive apps so we are grabbing them when they are free. These are definitely apps we would like to get more of, if you ever see them free please let Janet know. | Popcorn123This is a fun counting app for those new to counting (or needing extra help). Students are to pop the popcorn kernels in order. The catch...when you open the app it loks like all you need to do is pop the corn. If you select the information tab (a little i in a circle up the top) you are able to change the difficulty level. You are also able to change the counting range. This app can be found in the Maths folder. |
